The Obama administration will not move forward with a proposed reduction in Medicare Advantage rates after a campaign by America's Health Insurance Plans resulted in 160 members of Congress coming out in opposition to the cuts. According to the Associated Press, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services announced Tuesday that rates would instead increase by 3.3 percent in 2013, a reversal from an earlier position. AHIP was among the groups pressuring the administration to forego the cuts.
